Margaret Court Arena (MCA) has recently undergone significant redevelopment and transformation into a multi-use venue designed to host a wide range of sporting and entertainment events, from tennis, basketball and netball to music concerts. The redeveloped 7,500-seat facility, part of the $700 million Melbourne Park Masterplan, features a fast acting retractable roof making the Australian Open the only Grand Slam tennis event with three roofed venues.
Ten new food concession outlets were built around the court perimeter. Energy efficiency was at the centre of the MTD design with the Williams fridges being centrally linked to a high efficiency glycol chiller and freezer cabinets supplied as self-contained high efficiency hydrocarbon units. Installation works were done by Markforce. To fit under the stadium raking many cabinets were supplied as special cut down custom sizes. Many pass-through and preparation cabinets were also supplied amongst the 60 units at the site.
