Williams has recently been involved with the setting up of the Refrigeration and Climate Control Centre of Excellence (RCCC) at the Box Hill Institute of Tafe in Victoria. The centre is being used for the best practice teaching of refrigeration skills to apprentice refrigeration mechanics and other allied industries. The key aim is to provide cutting edge training in order to address the skills requirement of industry and present job ready workers trained using the most up-to-date equipment and technology.
The RCCC is located within the ultra-modern $41m Integrated Technology Hub (ITH) building which boasts some of the most modern training and education facilities available in Australia.
The environmentally friendly building was designed to achieve a 5 star green star accreditation and is one of the most sustainable education buildings in Australia.
POD Modular Training System
A unique feature of the training system is the use of modular POD systems. These 2.4m3 PODs can be used singly or in multiple units. PODs can be stacked, combined and connected to a range of services such as power, compressed air, water and data.
PODs are maintained and upgraded to reflect the latest technology. Their flexibility means training with the PODs stays current and continually relevant to industry.
Williams Refrigeration supplied equipment for two of the POD systems as well as assisting the institute in the provision of compressors for teaching purposes.
